^Be warned that changing FPS also changes the in-game physics:Most worthwhile servers (and Promod) ban 333FPS because you run silently with certain weapons, fire too fast, and take far less fall damage.Similarily, going too low will drastically reduce the physics. I use 80000 personally. Most servers are set to svfps 20. Forceware modem. The game readjusts itself if /snaps is set higher.
Cod4 Fps Commands
This is a precaution for any modded servers that do have svfps set to 30. Packet duplication only wastes bandwidth unless you really do have that bad of a connection. The Q3 engine only takes FPS caps equal to 1000/x. As such, 85 gets rounded up to 91 (1000/11). /clmaxpackets must be set to a number that is equal to the maxfps/x. As the default is 91, this is what happens.
I have my doubts in step 3 and 4. Step 2 depends much on environment if it is required or not.All the quake based games does take packet fragmenting in their own hands. Never emit packets larger than 1400 bytes.cltimenudge doesn't exist.
Finally the engine does only predict your own interaction with the world. It does not predict other player entities (This would be extrapolation). Or do you know something different? Still the Q3/CoD4 engine works quite the same. This is what I was told.
By setting /cltimenudge to a negative number, it reduces the time between interpolation. If it's set too low, the in-game players will appear to be moving choppy.
Stock COD4 doesn't have this setting, but ♥♥♥♥♥ does (if it works). The setting was removed after COD1UO.#3 was just a safety precaution for anyone like me who switched from WLAN to Ethernet ( I noticed better hitreg afterwards), and #4 is also a safety precaution. It worked for me though, my default MTU size was 1504 for some reason and setting it to 1500 fixed it.
