Install the Ground-Saver Pigtail into the ground input of the instrument.2. Install the red test lead into the red channel and connect the red test lead ground to the free end of the Ground-Saver Pigtail.3. Install the next desired test lead or leads into the corresponding channels.4.
One at a time take the test lead ground and route it under the other test leads and install into the end of the Ground Saver stack.5. Repeat step 4 until all installed test leads are connected to the Ground Saver stack.6. When complete the Ground Saver stack should rest off the back of the instrument.This method offers a reasonable amount of shielding for the all the test leads with the red test lead benefiting the most from the ground. This method also prevents problems associated with connecting multiple grounds to the vehicle.DMM Jumper CablesThe MTS series lab scopes offer a DMM input that is independent to the lab scope. Instead, there is a ground at the instrument side of each lead and a ground access socket on the other end.The instrument side ground allows for a reasonable amount of shielding of the test leads with only one ground connection to the vehicle, ideally via the red test leads.In some situations there may be a need to also include a ground from the test lead to the vehicle from the yellow,green or blue lead.
